Actually... Ours are the only ones properly updated. When the press numbers became available I notified Nielsen that multiple stations were missing that should have been visible. Nielsen requested that all publications hold distribution until revised, but none of the others did... We have the six originally missing stations. Nobody else right now does.

Another reason where you get your radio industry news matters...

WXBK HD2 (New York's Country) has an overall rating of .5 in both Nassau/Suffolk, and M/S/U. This is the most I've seen for an HD subchannel in this area.

I might be wrong cause im no expert on these stations but on radio insight....
KTU & NEW are both Hot AC ??
QHT is rhythmic chr but WPR is hip/hop/r&b ??

WKTU and WNEW have been Hot AC for a very long time. I'm not sure if playing some Reggaeton turns a Hip Hop/R&B station to a Rhythmic CHR station, because they have been doing that a lot recently (especially Drivetime DJ "DJ Camilo" and Night DJ "Funkmaster Flex"). Speaking of the latter, I tuned into his show a few nights ago and heard a song by Rochy RD, who I'm 97% percent (pun not intended) sure isn't played at all by WSKQ or WXNY, followed by "4K" by El Alfa.

In Nassau/Suffolk, WXBK HD2 went from 0 hours, 0 minutes Time Spent Listening last month to #1 in TSL this month, but it is 39th in cume. This is likely a fluke caused by one household or even one panelist listening practically non-stop all day, and not a sudden uptick in listening across the market.

Why is WKTU suddenly Beating The New 102.7 in the ratings?

WKTU targets Hispanics rather specifically, while 102.7 is more focused on what, for lack of a better term, non-Hispanic whites.

Since we have seen the annual population adjustments for the Metro Survey Area having higher and higher Black and Hispanic percentages, that should be a clue as to why a rhythmic format has a better opportunity to increase... all other things being equal.

Add in the un-quantified percentage of more recent immigrants who have greater affinity for rhythmic formats and we see that WKTU has a longer term advantage.

Correct... It's a combination of what the station reports themselves as for music panels but also adjusting for who the target demographic is.

WKTU and WNEW are both Hot AC targeting women 25-54. WQHT reports Rhythmic as more of their audience is of multiple demographics and ethnicities. WWPR is Hip Hop (Our way of de-emphasing the word Urban for its racial connotations) as they focus more on the African American audience.

WKTU may be getting a larger Hispanic audience, but by no means are they targeting them specifically.

Some suggestions for a better term: gringos, honkies, Wonder Breaders, palefaces, snow-belters, Arctic Circle-huggers, the rhythmically challenged, Sanka-slurpers, snowbirds, future residents of the Coachella Valley. :eek:🫥:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Coachella Valley is now 52% Hispanic!

No Sanka here:

(Note that "gringo" is not an offensive term. It can be even a term of endearment depending on context)

None of those terms were meant to be seriously offensive. Even "honkie", which was considered a putdown of whites back in the 60's and 70's, was rarely considered truly offensive by the intended insultees. Not like the real slurs, a couple of which I've been on the receiving end of, and I won't dignify by repeating here.
