WSFZ is stunting, will become Jackson's BIN affiliate

iHeartMedia will acquire WSFZ (930 AM)--as well as its translator, W251DB (98.1)--from SSR Communications (which still owns WYAB).

WSFZ will become Jackson's Black Information Network affiliate.

iHeartMedia already owns five stations in Jackson:
  • WHLH (95.5 Hallelujah FM): urban gospel
  • WJDX (AM620): talk; Fox Sports Radio
  • WJDX-FM (Real 105.1): contemporary hip-hop
  • WMSI (Miss 103): contemporary country
  • WSTZ (Z106.7): classic rock
Just a few months ago, New South Radio (d/b/a The Radio People?) had sold WSFZ to SSR Communications.

It's currently broadcasting. Heard a little of it. Not really impressed by the programming. Station still needs some technical tweaking.
