WKXP’s “Lite-FM” Vs. WGHQ’s “Magic 92.5”

As you know, WKXP’s “Lite-FM” at 94.3 plays light music from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and the 2000’s while WGHQ’s “Magic 92.5” plays more light music and soft oldies from 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and the 2000’s.

In addition, WKXP’s “Lite-FM” has DJ’s, and WGHQ’s “Magic 92.5” has no DJ’s, just completely automated. Plus, “Lite-FM” has John Tesh in evenings which can also be heard on WHUD and WROW’s “Magic 100.5” every night while WGHQ has no evenings on there, just automated.

WGHQ’s “Magic 92.5” has been on the air since 2021 and they are trying to compete with WKXP’s “Lite-FM” at 94.3. And now, “Magic 92.5” is hurting “Lite-FM” and WGNY-FM’s “Fox Oldies” where they are grabbing all of its WGNY listeners over to WGHQ.

Any thoughts on which light music stations is about to win the most? Either WKXP’s “Lite-FM” at 94.3, or WGHQ’s “Magic 92.5”. Make your pick.

What about WRNQ 92 FM how do they compare with WGHQ and WKXP ? Q92 plays 80s to today. I would like to see this happen...
Make Q92 an Oldies station with their sister station 1450 WKIP and move Newstalk radio to WEOK 1390 AM as they have a better signal with 5000 watts.

That too. These three are hurting “Lite-FM” as well, because WGHQ is on 92.5 with a mix of oldies and soft rock and some forgotten songs and some deeper songs thrown in.

I wonder being that it's hurting Q 92 we will see a format change not to far in the future ?

Maybe if WGHQ might be grabbing its audience from “Q92”, “Lite-FM” and “Fox Oldies”, it will make a much better soft oldies station than the others. Don’t expect to see a format change anytime soon.
