Where is WMAL's Rick Fowler?

I've always enjoyed his "Saturday Morning Update" ... low key but informative ... but he's been missing for several weeks.

At first there was a "best of" the weekday morning show, then guest hosts, "Filling in for Rick Fowler," more recently just, "Filling in..."

Anyone know what's going on? Hope he's OK.

I, too, have been wondering the same thing!! I saw a post elsewhere that said an email to his Cumulus account had bounced back, and another post that the station manager Bill Hess had not replied to an email request for info.
 
Rick Fowler IS Saturday Morning Update. Michael OPelka or whatever his name is lacks the class, knowledge, familiarity with the regulars and has made listening to these 2 hours painful. I hope Rick is healthy and well and is back in HIS chair real soon. I used to look forward to listening to this wonderfully educational 2 hours a week. Come back Rick!!!!!
 
David is 100% correct, I too used look forward to two hours with Rick Fowler and his regular guests. I set my alarm to listen. I especially liked the first 10 minutes when Rick would provide his weekly update summary of news events. I hope Rick is healthy and well and that WMAL is not trying to pull another Chris Plante on us where we the listeners need to demand his return. Rick’s regular guests are all good but without Rick’s partnership it’s like the Kid without Cassidy. WMAL BRING BACK RICK FOWLER. He IS Saturday Morning Update.
 
I too have gotten up at 6:00 a.m. on Saturdays to listen to our beloved radio friend Rick and his just-right lineup of familiar and informative personalities. Rick’s rapport with his guests made for a comfortable and enjoyable listening experience. Bill Hess also ignored my email. I’m with Rick’s fans and friends above ~
