What Happened to the Sirius XM channel known as Volume?

It is a talk channel, discussing Rock music, not unlike the sports channels talk about sports. I would listen to Mark Goodman from time to time do his afternoon talk show. But he is not on Volume anymore, concentrating instead on 80s on 8 (along with MTV VJs Alan Hunter and Nina Blackwood) and on Classic Rewind (80s-oriented Classic Rock, along with Hunter).

I see now that Volume has been moved from Channel 108, available on every Sirius XM receiver, to Channel 780, only available on line. The morning show with Nik Carter and Lori Majewski is still there. Eddie Trunk and Jimmy Jam still host shows, as well as Alan Light, Goodman's previous co-host. But with a channel only on-line, how long with it last?

Probably wasn't doing well in online listening, which apparently is the only way SXM measures audience, since Nielsen does not track satellite radio listening by individual channels. Another possibility is that it wasn't showing up among favorites of subscribers in the occasional surveys sent out to a small sampling by email. Of course, those surveys are often more like "push polls," with the channels SXM is heavily invested in and pushing hard listed first. The last survey on sports listening I got had Mad Dog Radio on top, its position justified by nothing other than the $1.5 million SXM is paying Chris Russo per year to run the channel.

106. 108 is Today Show Radio.

But only a month after it was announced it was moving to online only, they finally made the changes last week or two weeks ago. 106 is now one of SXM's pop-up channels, along with 14, 104, and 105.

As a matter of fact, as we speak, they're playing a loop of a promo of Volume moving to online only plus moving some shows to Faction Talk Channel 103. Source? My SiriusXM Wi-Fi Sound Station.
