Fox is expanding the 4 pm News in Chicago to after competitors and yes its for campaign dollars on the state level.
Fox-owned WFLD Chicago will launch a new newscast, First at Four, on Aug. 3. The hour-long, weekday newscast will broadcast at 4 p.m. and precede Fox 32 News at 5 p.m. With this addition, the station will produce 10 hours of live, local news each weekday and 55 hours of local news per week.
In making the announcement, WFLD VP-News Director Matt Piacente said: “Chicagoans deserve more than just sound bites to understand the unprecedented news currently affecting them. We will continue to deliver the news of the day, but with deeper explanations and perspectives from our experts, viewers and journalists.”
