Translator Swap Involving WLAC's 98.3 Refiled Today

A previous swap involving a number of stations including WLAC's translator has been refiled today. Due to a site lease issue, this part of the swap was held back. The swap sends 98.3 W252CM in Nashville to EMF in exchange for W280DO in Lexington, KY going to iHeartMedia.

With WLAC's AM site being sold off or at least downsized (see the previous thread) and now the translator, which is the primary branding for the station, leaving the iHeart fold, one has to wonder where this leaves WLAC in the near future and iHeart's commitment to the station long term beyond clearing syndicated product on a marginal AM signal (at night) in a town that is so FM-centric.

Looking at the way they've handled their other markets, they will simply do what you suggest and use it for clearing syndicated product. That's good enough for them.

97.5 is abysmal signal wise. Funny how suddenly 98.3 finally got their legal IDs straight. i remember the EMF deal was done quite a while back. I guess it doesn’t really matter. The ratings have been better with 98.3. What will Dave Ramsey do now? Wait for it...
