The Hallmark Channel Announces It's 2023 "Countdown To Christmas" Lineup Of Christmas Romance Movies

The Hallmark Channel cable network has announced 31 brand new made-for-TV Christmas romance movies that will air as part of it's 2023 "Countdown To Christmas".

In addition to the 31 new movies this year (see link to the schedule below), the network will rebroadcast many of its past Christmas movies. New movies will be seen in prime-time on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights between Friday, October 20th and Sunday, December 17th (with an additional new Christmas movie premiering on Thanksgiving night, Thursday, November 23rd, plus double features of all new Christmas movies on the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights of Thanksgiving weekend, November 24th through 26th. The Hallmark Yuleathon will probably continue into January (I wouldn't be surprised if it goes through mid-January!).

I don't think the actors and writers strikes affected the production schedules of these films.

BTW, the Hallmark Channel won't be the only network showing round the clock Christmas movies this year. Once more, Lifetime will also carry a substantial number of Christmas romance movies, although they haven't, to my knowledge, announced their schedule of Christmas movies.

In one respect, the Hallmark Channel is the television equivalent to all-Christmas radio, and like radio stations that go all-Christmas for several weeks during the Holiday season, it's programming appeals to "Soccer Moms"---women between 25 and 54 years of age, which is the most desirable demographic in advertising. And the Friday and Saturday night Hallmark Christmas movies often do well in the ratings against other cable and broadcast competition, especially in the aforementioned demographic, partly due to weak competition.
