Talk Radio Network may have suspended operations

RadioInsight: “Rumor has it that Talk Radio Network shut down operations yesterday with zero notice as Westwood One pulled its programming from its XDS satellite receivers leaving many stations with dead air in place of programming today.”

Wikipedia:

As of December 22nd Talk Radio Network went dark for non payment of it’s uplink through Westwood One.

I thought I heard Advice Line on KDWN the other night. This also affects Science Fantastic with Michio Kaku, which airs Saturdays on many news/talk stations.

Interesting story. 2018 would be the network's 20th anniversary. Over those years, they've been involved with some great shows, some great ideas. But a network built around talk programming, given the struggle in attracting advertising for controversial programming, may have been too much to overcome. There have been several previous obituaries written for TRN, but this one may be real.

The biggest name they've ever had? Not Savage. They were the first syndicator for Art Bell's Coast to Coast AM, before Premiere took over in 1998.
