SiriusXM The Blend ('70s/'80s Soft AC) playlist analysis

Since they "reblended", The Blend's weekly playlist has been around 700 songs. I stopped counting at 700 because above that point I was getting more and more repeats and fewer and fewer unique titles. The oldest is from 1967 (you guessed it -- "Brown Eyed Girl") and the newest are from 2000. The majority of titles are from 1976 to 1990, although with a strange dip at 1979 -- I guess they wanted to avoid playing too much Disco.

That's an interesting list. I guess with no more Sirius XM Love on satellite radios, only on the internet or app, The Blend has moved a bit softer.

So why the dip for 1979? Yes, it was the disco era. But some disco songs would also be Soft AC titles: Reunited, Heaven Knows, After The Love Has Gone. I am looking at the 1979 Top 100 Hits and it's not a bad list.
