SO IM TRING TO FIND OUT IS THERE ANY PRODUCT ON THE MARKET TO RECIEVE WIRELESS OR INTERNET SIGNAL FROM A MILE OR FEW MILES AWAY, I NEED TO FIND A CHEEP ALTERNATIVE TO FEEDING INTERNET SIGNAL TO MY BARIXS EXSTREAMERS...KEEPING IN MIND I HAVE 4 LOCATION AND ADDING 4 MORE RANGEMASTERS TO MY STATION! I FIGURED SOMEONE WOULD HAVE A IDEA!! CAUSE FIOS OR OPTIMUM WOULD BE A CRAZY PRICE TO RUN INTERNET SERVICE AT 8 LOCATIONS!

I would look into long range wireless networks. But, you need line of sight for this to work. Cantennas pointed at eachother
mounted on poles might work. You can make the antenna out of Pringle Potato Chip cans. This is how I'd try to feed
several Rangemasters. Good Luck!

The ugly side effect being you will gain several pounds from all the Pringle's chips you'll be eating......

I saw a reference long ago to making an extended wifi antenna using now-defunct Echostar sat dishes. I wonder if that would be a workable solution with one of those audio or audio/video repeater systems. I believe Hamilton has an interface that connects to the video signal so you can send phase info to the transmitter to phase-sync Rangemasters together.

I've used this kludgy mod to a Primestar dish to get extended wifi range here in the boonies of northern Arizona.

Noting here that a little Rustoleum prevents that rusty can look.

Of course, Echostar continues to thrive on as main equipment maker for Dish Network.

That was the link I originally saw - thanks for digging it up, ironbear.

Of course my question is just how critical is finding the focal point with regards to the "cantenna-like" feedhorn? I have access to some older DirecTV dishes and would be interested in trying this just as an experiment.

See the final posts in 'Low Power Broadcast Auxilliary License' in this forum...TVBDs are coming!
