Do you have to work in the Tampa Bay market to post on radio-info.com? Can a NORMAL listener of a station post? Can a listner be BANNED from calling in by posting? I just wanted to let the BEST Person in TB-Cowhead know that it was wrong that they FIRED him from 92.5! I would like to know EVERYONE's opinion on my post! Thanks

It's a station's choice as to who it puts on the air. Radio-Info.com allows anyone to post on here, so long as the rules of the site are followed.

But with that written, if someone from a station is trying to bully you into not posting by threatening to not put you on the air if you post here, I recommend either telling them to stick it (since they're likely trying to manipulate you), or maintain an anonymous user name that will protect your identity. What is it that the person (or people) are afraid you're going to post?
______________

Here is a lesson, young fellow, that if understood will be invaluable to you. Radio is a business. A fun business, however, a business. Mike Calta is a fine person. He wasn't fired for not being a fine person or for not being talented. There was a business decision made to change the course of the station. If the station was successful there would have been no change.

Where do you think Cowhead will end up? How long will he have to sit out? Did you listen to 92.5? Do you work in the market? Did US 103.5 have something to do with the change?

Is this the Love Tiger that cluttered the Outlaw 92.5 airwaves since its inception. Shouldn't you feel responsible for the low ratings, and the decison to change formats? Is this the same Love Tiger that was given a car, but couldn't afford to get a driver's license? Is this the same Love Tiger that allowed a bike given to him by a 92.5 listener to be crushed in a stupid radio stunt by Cowhead? Is this the same Love Tiger that allowed himself to be beaten senseless in yet another radio stunt by Cowhead? Is this the same Love Tiger who is proud, unemployeed, 35 year old virgin? Is this the same Love Tiger who used to say his hero and idol is Mason Dixon?

LT, do us all a favor - keep calling the programs on 1010 that no one can hear, and stay off the board.

Thanks.

any more questions ?

As to the last question.....when a format is changed, it's really more about ''opportunity'' . Opportunity to achieve a larger audience, strictly a business decision. Outlaw had a very small audience as far as a major market FM signals go......and certainly there was little room to grow, after US 1035 came on especially.........now look at the opportunity side. One of the last major metro's without a spanish language FM......instantly you almost ''own'' your target, don't you ?

and , room to grow indeed.......The spanish speaking community has been on quite a groath trend for a while now.....no where to go but up , right ?

Now......any one care to predict the first full 12+ number. I can tell you that it will be higher than outlaw's last !

Were you an Outlaw listener? I was LT on Cowhead's Show! Where will Cowhead end up? Is Steve Austin the permanant morning man at QYK? Maybe Cowhead and Brent could go there? Do you mind if I post even though I'm ONLY a College DJ at USF?

I'll do my best to help you with your questions one at a time...

> Do you have to work in the Tampa Bay market to post on radio-info.com?

No, L.T. If you will take notice, people from all over the country are posting here, and anyone can post in any other market's thread as well. Just play nicely with all of the other boys and girls.

I started my radio career in Atlanta, and use this site as one way to keep up with goings-on in Atlanta radio. When I see something there where I'd like to put my two cents in, I post there as well. It also keeps me in touch with old friends.

By the way... The last time I checked, you DO work in the Tampa Bay market. Sure... WBUL can't be heard outside the radio station's parking lot and has no Arbitron numbers, but instead of trying to take credit for boosting the ratings on the various Infinity outlets where you call in as a listener, take some pride in your own "Retro Saturday Night" show. It's great to have a dream, but we all had to start out somewhere.

If you make frequent airchecks of your show and listen to them the following day, you can critique yourself by being a listener. When you hear something that needs improvement, work on that area in future shows. When you hear something that sounds like a seasoned pro, put it on your demo. Be patient with this process, and before you know it, you will have a demo disk that you can be proud of. Also... you can continuously improve your demo by adding the best new stuff, and trashing the parts that should be "voted off of the island".

Here's a dollar's worth of free advice: Lay off of the daily calls to all of the shows. Call occasionally, and only then when you really have something to add to the show. Believe me, everyone knows who you are now. You don't have to be there every day. After about a year, take the aforementioned demo disk and a professionally written resume, and present it to the right people to apply for a vacancy. You are very lucky to have made great contacts in Tampa radio, and to have a show where you can hone your skills at no cost to you. If you use these tools wisely and conduct yourself in a professional manner, you could go far.

(I now step down from my soapbox.)

>Can a NORMAL listener of a station post?

Do you really consider yourself to be NORMAL?

>Can a listner be BANNED from calling in by posting?

Don't worry... The Sport Chix aren't going to be too bothered by something that you say here... Stalking them however, is a completely different story!

>I just wanted to let the BEST Person in TB-Cowhead know that it was wrong that they FIRED him from 92.5! I would like to know EVERYONE's opinion on my post! Thanks

It was a business decision. If you held a big chunk of Viacom stock, I'm sure you would applaud the flip. Infinity recognises Mike Calta's talent, and that of the whole Cowhead and Brent Show crew. If they spoke Spanish, they would still be on the air. Don't worry... You haven't heard the last of Cowhead. Oh yeah, and you can quit kissing his ass now.

Does anyone else get that he'll just asking more questions? Did you see when he runs out of questions he starts asking them all over again? Can you tell he likes Cowhead? Does Cowhead actually have a cow's head? Did the city of Tampa actually outlaw Outlaw 92.5? Does every one realize the Arbitron ratings for Radio-Info are going up because I'm posting? Does anyone else know if I'm just slow, mentally challenged or what? Is anyone mad cause I'm only posting eight questions this time? I hope to hear from all my listeners if the Radio_info servers can handle all that.

P.S. Can the Radio-Info servers handle all that? Damn, now that's nine questions now. Anyone think Cowhead will mind I forgot to mention him in the last two questions? Will Cowhead come co-host with me on WBUL I hope?

(If it's any consolation, there are e-mails from this Dr Johnny On The P Spot Love Tiger Train radio show guy in my box asking the same questions over and over and over again, then he posts them on here too)
______________

Well, I was going to answer to hopefully calm RBQfan1 a little bit, but I
realize that would be an invaluable waste of time.

BTW, beautifully done as always, Holmes :) I'm still lmao.
