Philly needs an FM Hurban station

How about putting it on 95.7 or 103.9? Hurban seems to be performing well in other markets. Philly used to have a Spanish pirate "El Sol 95.3" which actually impacted WEMG-AM's ratings. The geniuses at Greater Media should have realized this when 95.3 got busted (partially because of interference to 95.7).<P ID="signature">______________

TRANSLATION: 95.7 plays too much rock and roll, so blow it up for another unproven format, just so our young ears don't have to be subject to music we don't like.

Yeah yeah, I know....103.9 is gospel, blah blah blah. Same thing here....BUT! 103.9 won't flip - not Radio One's target audience, and why would you want it to? 103.9 isn't rock, so I suppose they can stay.<P ID="signature">______________

Hey man, you are 100% right, wow, could not have put it better, you got them figured out. But why does it have to be this way, they all hate rock but love urban and have no idea why. Rock is always put down here and urban is always uplifted, you might think if this was an urban board it would be this way, but its not.
 
You guys are out of your friggin gourds. The only people around here who are still bitching about the Rock vs. Anything-That-Isn't-Rock are you two! Stop complaining everytime someone mentions a format that isn't Rock and the whole argument would probably go away. I mean, really. It's like listening to an autistic person with tourettes! LOL.

How could I still be bitching, when I just signed on this board a few days ago and this is my third post, I never posted before. I have read this board for months and what Altimari says is correct, I am neither for or against Rock, but the posts say it all, so don't go off on a tangent, its just what I gather. You seem to be the one that is all upset and bitching, just because we posted our feelings.

Amen, brutha! E Gill, we've been through this before. And I know you are relatively new, unless this is a new SN, but nonetheless. Yes, rock fans have taken knocks on these boards before. I just represent the apparant minority, but want our voices recorded as well. Just different strokes for different folks. So, sometimes I see "What Philly needs is format X" and I cringe.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion...just asking others to be respectful of mine.<P ID="signature">______________

When you are respectful, you earn respect. When we went through this before, I was simply responding to an instance when you disrespected someone else.

It is laughable for you to say that Rock fans have taken knocks here while you completely ignore the fact that Rock fans are the first to do the knocking whenever someone mentions anything slightly rhythmic around here. Do you not see the irony there? (Why am I even asking the question? LOL.)

Let's see if we can't act like adults and drop this stupid issue.

If you observe other boards over a period of time, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about...unless, of course, you have a jaundiced view already.

Philly Needs an FM Spanish Station

I think before Philly gets an FM HURBAN station, they need to get an FM Spanish Station to see how it goes before they try HURBAN. WEMG's former sister in Hartford WLAT AM 910 sounds great. They play a wide variety of Spanish Music and mix-in quite a bit of reggaeton. They even have several all reggaeton shows including Monday-Friday 12PM-1PM and Friday and Sunday Nights. Actually the reggaeton show on Sunday Night was on WLAT when they were still co-owned with WEMG.

And it needs to be on a real FM station in Philly, not like last time when it was on 104.9 FM, which I believe was stunting as a Country Station when I was in the Philly Area in 2003 and I couldn't pick it up on a walkman across from the Philly Train Station. <P ID="signature">______________

I seriously am not going to reply in this thread anymore. I can't watch you guys make the same points over and over and continue to apply the "rubber-and-glue" thing. I'd rather try to keep things a bit lighter.
