Paris Shootings - CBS' Vicki Barker

I have to give a big shout out when I hear a reporter really nailing the coverage of a big story.

CBS Radio News London Correspondent Vicki Barker (who is normally heard doing wire reads during AM drive newscast, even if its covering US news!) really knocked it out of the park this morning with her live reporting/anchoring from Paris on CBS' top of the hour newscasts. Her reporting often lead the newscast live and also included bits from CBS Paris stringer Elaine Cobb and CBS TV reporters Clarissa Ward and Elizabeth Palmer.

CBS was all over this story this morning. Fox News Radio was covering it from London, and ABC News Radio (which has fallen far in its ability to cover hard news - following the TV network's lead and looking for "news you can use") had only a repackaged piece from TV reporter Brian Ross (in the US) on a Doug Limerick AM drive newscast.

Its nice to know that CBS still has the ability to hit a home run on their radio product.
