I'm a local historian/to-be broadcasting student from Panama City Beach, and because all of the local airchecks I've collected or recorded on my own (save for one) are fairly recent, combined with the fact that old clips from this area seem to be extremely few and far between, I've decided to call upon someone/anyone who has anything from my neck of the woods.
Here's some info on the one's I'm more interested in, for those who like reading:
WDLP (590), whose original incarnation operated from 1940 to 1987. Besides being a fairly popular station, it was the first in the PC market.
WSCM (1290), operated from 1958 until 1979. Although I don't have any checks from this station, I do have some albums used by the station.
WPCF/WWWQ/WKSD (1430), the second station in the PC market started as an ABC Radio Network affiliate upon its launch in 1949, and over time turned more Christian. In 1978, it became WWWQ (3WQ), an AC station, and under the same name, a country station in 1982. From 1985 to 1986 it was WKSD, an Oldies station branded as "Stardust AM".
WGNE (1480), "Genie Radio" operated from 1965 until 1982, when it was sold and became WKGC-AM.
WBPC (95.1), specifically its time as B-95 from 2005 to 2009.
WDLP-FM (98.9), I doubt anyone has any from this station, as it only existed between 1950/51 and 1959, but it wouldn't hurt to ask, I suppose.
WGCV/WJST/WWZR (94.5)
WGNE-FM/WFSY (98.5)
WKGC (90.7 and formerly 1480)
WLVV/WILN (105.9), WLVV was "Love FM", a female-oriented AC station that existed between 1985 and 1987. Any older Island 106 checks (1987-2000s) will be greeted with open arms. I'm also looking for a segment I was a part of from 2008-2011 called 'the Kid Correspondent" that was on their "That Guy Kramer" morning show, as most of the ones my family had saved were eaten by a faulty tape deck.
WPAP (92.5), longstanding country outlet since 1969. I have a 30-minute recording from 1973 I can trade, albeit low-quality.
WPFM/WDRK (107.9), I'm looking for anything from this station from 1973 until 1998.
WRBA (95.9), I'm mostly looking for Bay 96 (1987-1994) checks, but Arrow 95.9 ones are fine too.
WTBB/WYYX (97.7), anything from the 1982-2000s.
