Oldies back on in San Diego, with "All 60's and 70's KSURF"

A very CBS FM'sh sounding 60's and 70's Oldies station debuted at 3pm PST today, was kicked off by Art Michaels just minutes ago on CBS owned 103.7 (yes another defunked Free FM). The station is using both the "Oldies" and "60's and 70's" labels. Looks like this format is on the rebound.

Could New York be next?

Too bad it was only a stunt. What's funny is that the stunt will draw more buzz than what is replacing it.

It's a shame, a darned shame! Instead of going for a format that's been missing in San Diego like Oldies, they went for the Modern Hot AC format, which is not only a dying format, its completely saturated in San Diego. AND, they are going take P2's away from sister Kyxy. Maybe they are thinking of selling them as a combo to advertisers, I just don't know...

Not sure I want to either!
