NEW TV STATION IN HOUSTON

I disconnected my cable from my TV the other day and connected my indoor antenna, and ran across something interesting. There is a new low-power station on
CHANNEL 21. It is KVQT-LP. It seemes to be mainly religion in Spanish, but there was an English preacher on it yesterday. I live near Hillcroft and Richmond, and it is putting in a good signal. Does anyone know where they transmit from? What is really interesting about this,is that they are using channel 21 when there is already a 20 in Houston, and a 22 south of Houston. Either this is an FCC mistake, or the FCC has really changed some of it's spacing
requirements for TV allocations.

You're a little late....Its been on for a while....they were on another channel (24) and moved to 21 (because of Trinity's KETH digital on 24). They use to be in the NE of Houston on a GTE MObilenet tower that has since been dismantled....they are NOW on the Richland Tower in the SR Road farm...how they got 21 that close to 20 (which is on the next tower over) is amazing!!

go to http://www.fcc.gov/mb/video/tvq.html and enter just the callsign.

KVQT fired up the new transmitter at about the same time KHLM-TV Channel 43 hit the air with its own upgrade and flipped to "TV Informa 43."

Keep an eye on Channel 30 which will soon see a similar upgrade and will flip to Hispanic targeted "LAT-TV."
