I've read somewhere that a station licensed on this frequency are planning again to use a ship, a similar situation with Q The Beat's use of the MV Communicator also on 1224 some years back.

Is there any more news on this in the Dutch online press or is this just a myth?

It's a myth, since the license for the 1224 khz is revoked from the owner of the frequency by the Dutch FCC. Reason: Not having a station on-air since the auction years ago. The contract which came with the license stated everybody had to have a signal on air after a period of time. After several warnings, the license was revoked, together with some other licenses for other frequencies.
