Liberals win Canadian election, ousting Harper

Canada's Liberal party, led by Justin Trudeau, won a stunning election victory on Monday and toppled the Conservative government of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, according to unanimous projections by Canada's major television networks.

The projected win ends the Conservatives' nine-year run in power and reflected a political shift away from Harper's brand of fiscal and cultural conservatism. The Conservatives were projected to become the official opposition in Parliament, with the left-leaning New Democratic Party in third.

Apparently our friends up north wanted a change. I wonder if falling oil prices paid a role in Harper's defeat?

I'm from Canada and I am very glad to see Harper go.
Change is due.
Time to bring on the new.
If you're not a true Democrat, don't worry. Neither is the Federal Liberal party of Canada.
They run up the middle.
They try hard to make both Capitalists and Socialists happy. Not just one or the other.
That's why I LOVE Canada. 3 main choices. Not just two at election time...
