KPAZ-TV Channel 21 History

Very interesting article that was posted recently on Clarke Ingram's & KM Richards' UHF History website. Worth a read.

http://www.uhftelevision.com/articles/kpaz.html

Oh look, I wrote that!

Seriously, KPAZ's first ten years are an extremely underrated and incredibly turbulent history. It tried to be a little bit of everything in a city that might not have been ready for it yet. They had the right idea about 10 to 15 years ahead of when it was viable, and they suffered as a result.

The whole piece is very, very interesting. Now I know some of the prior history
of LOU SILVERSTEIN, who founded KAHM 102.1 here in Prescott. He really was
way ahead of his time...... He is sorely missed.

The ticker tape news mentioned in the article...to me that means a single line across the bottom of the screen. Whereas, I remember channel 21 focused a small camera on the teletype machine (that they installed outside of the studio/offices so people could look at the teletype in action).

Did they start with the teletype machine and then switch to a "ticker tape" or was it always the teletype machine?

Thanks.
