Like their Logo they're playing New Country and the Legends. So you listen to a good variety on it.

OK....hold on a second...Stop me here and update me since All Access didn't report on it.

Are you saying Conch FM flipped away from Smooth Jazz?

Yes, Someone actually figured out that Country did, and will work in the Keys.:)

Actually, there was an announcement made on All Access several days before the change was made.

Actually, Thunder Country 100.3 has been going strong in the Keys since 1998

Weak signal in the lower keys. Except in cars, also on satellite.

Yes, the new station...98.7 Conch Country....sounds much better than Thunder which is primarily satellite from Jones or elsewhere. You're right that Thunder gets down to about Marathon and then is spotty...but Conch gets from Key West to Islamorada. They have Big D and Bubba in the morning...Vanessa middays...Race PM Drive and Lia at night. The station sounds real good. I love the jingles. I think a good move to get rid of the syndicated Smooth Jazz...a virtual non-player for years under Crain and their management team of Bob/Gina Soos.

Hi, Ken. Transparent plug for your new station. In case you haven't checked in lately, Thunder Country is locally programmed now 100% since January 1st and sounding much better than the Conch Country hybrid of national syndication and "local" programming. Of course you love the jingles, you WROTE them ! Of course you think it's best to change the management direction of Bob and Gina...you FIRED them.

Politics! Politics! All I care about is Conch Country is FINALLY a station I LIKE to listen to, and I can hear in the area I live! And I hate to tell you, but he DIDN'T write the Jingles, they came out of Nashville. Plus I know for a FACT Race and Vanessa are local, so although Conch Country may be Syndicated during the night, its daytime programming is Local.
Edited by odefella on 03/06/06 11:43 PM.

Ditto, As the person who signed on the first country FM in the keys, I just wanted the take on the new station.. Sounds like it is a winner, hopefully they will promote it, sell it to advertisers, and give it a chance to grow. WPIK was very successful when I was there, I don't know what happened after that. Once again the moral of the story, country does and will work in the Keys.
