KC 101 and Kiss 95.7

There is a significant overlap in coverage of KC101 and Kiss 95.7. IHM should swap Kiss 95.7's format with 93.1 in Springfield to make less of a redundancy. Make 93.1 Kiss FM and 95.7 Mix 95.7. It would make more sense to cover an area without a Pop Station with a Pop station. Also KC101 and Mix 93.1 have less of an overlap.

Kiss 95.7 has too much heritage. I don't think iHeart would take a risk like that. Moreover, Hartford is a bigger market than Springfield. It's also a bigger market than New Haven. There's more ad revenue potential in Hartford.

Look at the numbers. The stations do far better in their "home" markets despite the overlap. Nothing is going to change, KC101 is New Haven's CHR station and Kiss 95.7 is Hartford's and, by default, CHR-less Springfield's. Listen to the advertising on both stations and you'll hear advertising that mainly targets their home markets.

Your swap also leaves Hartford with two Hot ACs and forces Kiss to compete with a successful and entrenched WTIC-FM. That would be lunacy on the part of iHeart, which has been happy for many years letting Kiss be the CHR for both Hartford and Springfield. If Springfield needed its own CHR instead of one from 20 miles down the road, some station there would have flipped long ago.

One of the more birdbrained things ive heard in ahwile, with no logical argument to back it up with.
