KABC Has No Ratings?

According to StationRatings.com, KABC finished the January ratings at a zero. The two previous months, it was ahead of the other lower-ranked talk stations, KEIB (owned by iHeart) and KRLA (owned by Salem). They both remained about the same. And KFI was all the way up at #6.

I can't believe KABC dropped out of sight. Did Cumulus accidently turn off its encoder or StationRatings.com made a mistake?

Most likely Cumulus decided not to subscribe in LA any longer.

It’s nothing more than a clearinghouse for Westwood One shows on weekdays and all-infomercials on the weekends. To that extent, there’s no reason why it should even be rated if it’s serving those two niche interests and not being anywhere close to a money drain.

Back in the fall, KGO San Francisco flipped to mostly sports betting, supplemented by CBS Sports Radio in off hours. (Which makes 3 out of Cumulus's 3 AM stations in the SFBA market - and an FM simulcast of KNBR - running some variation of sports programming.) This week's book shows KGO at the bottom of the barrel with a 0.2.

If that's the best Cumulus can do with a 50KW near-clear which hits SoCal like a local at night, why should anyone be surprised that they'd put signal-challenged KABC on the radio equivalent of life support? Seems like common sense at this point, ride the winners and put the losers out to pasture.
