Is KNWQ Palm Springs the Next Goner?

I noticed an interesting filing today... Alpha is changing the primary station on translator K232CX, which has been the primary signal brand for K-NEWS for the better part of a decade from KNWQ 1140 AM to KKUU 92.7 HD-3.

The AM signals for the K-News simulcast are only mentioned in the legal id.

970 AM KNWZ's translator, K284CR, 104.7 FM is the second half of the brand and both translator have similar coverage areas and neither are tied to their AM from the "revitalization window"

I would guess that 1140 is going to be turned in and that possibly one of the translators will eventually become a different format.

Both 94.3 and 104.7 are still featured on K-NEWS' website and socials.

I thought one translator is in the East Valley and the other in Palm Springs. In that case, the usable signals do not overlap.

Yes, their site got huge water runoffs from the aftermath of a hurricane... the first to hit the Valley in over 70 years!

I believe they are both on Edom. 104.7 has more power but is nulled in the direction of Palm Springs. It really doesn’t make much sense to have them both in the same simulcast.
