Did a quick FM Bandscan from Sparta, NC on my way back from Mount Airy! I either heard the IDs of or already knew most of the stations here, but any help in IDing the ones I couldn't nail down would be greatly appreciated! All heard on the radio in the '96 Chevy Blazer I drive:

Am thinking that WJMH 102.1 Reidsville is your Rap station, jp. Radio-Locator lists them as being 99,000 watts. You're hot A/C on 100.3 is (probably) WMKS High Point.
Odd that the 'distant' R-L list for Sparta shows nothing between 99.1 and 104.1 -- and you heard seven stations !
Best of luck with that list!

Lol -- the last time this Yank went through NC was with the wife and moms-in-law. The people at gas-ups and diners really turned on the 'accent'. Even through SC and GA we weren't subjected nearly as much to being y'alled and drawled and sho-nuffed and honeychilded.

91.3-gospel (very faint)
WXRI Joy FM, Winston-Salem.
92.3-unknown (crystal clear, K92 branding......WKRR?)
WXLK Roanoke, CHR. Never understood why they allowed WKRR to be so close.
94.5-unknown (news/talk with a Sean Hannity bumper)
WPTI, licensed to Eden, located in Greensboro.

96.3-very faint oldies
Seriously? WROV Roanoke is rock. There's no way anything else is picked up in Sparta.

97.1-hip hop (crystal clear)
WQMG in Greensboro is urban AC. Something else might be picked up in Sparta because WQMG has to be directional..
99.9-extremely faint (country?)
WKSF Asheville has a very high tower. Could be.

Makes sense that WROV would be weaker than the other big Roanoke sticks, transmitter is at least 300' lower and only 14K watts, but I'd have to believe that's what you got there... and yeah, it's "rock" but here are their last four songs right now:
T.N.T. - AC/DC
Come As You Are - Nirvana
Rag Doll - Aerosmith
Animal - Def Leppard
it's rock, and not typical "oldies" format fare, but those are all plenty old!
