I happened to still be in Delaware (instead of Ridley Park) at 8am this morning and listened to Imus on WWDB instead of WFAN. I was surprised at the number of ads. Kohl's Father's Day sale and numerous other local/national spots.
My question for those on the sales end of radio (and others, of course)is this. How does an AM station with virtually no audience attract so many ads for morning drive? Is it a give-away for those who buy ads on 96.5 and WXTU?
I was also surprised at the strength of WWDB in Newark, Del. On I-495 at 6am the 'FAN is always stronger than 860. But in Newark, a lot further south, WWDB was loud and clear.
