KCUR now has an HD2 signal up, rebroadcasting KWJC.
KWJC is located on the east side so this new HD signal should help reception on the west side.

When I had an HD Radio dongle for iPhone, KCUR was the one HD signal that couldn’t lock. It knew it was broadcasting in HD, but it would do nothing but flash. I’m guessing they've gotten that problem fixed, but it went on several months.

Apparently, the old transmitter KCUR had could only support 1 HD signal. They recently got their new transmitter however, now they can have more.

There is only one HD signal, which carries HD-1, 2 and 3. And an auxiliary signal that carries HD-4. While this is simplified, remember that HD is a single digital signal which can be divided into many signals, each with a portion of the total "bandwidth".

On the other hand, some of the earliest HD units were more limited in features. But the Analog transmitter does not control that.

Just as a point of interest, for quite a while, the Hancock Tower site in Chicago had the stations located there using a separate HD antenna! Literally, these are two station on the same frequency sharing the total bandwidth.
