Cedric Hollywood Out At 99 JAMZ/WEDR?

Saw this on All Access this morning... What's up?

"COX Urban WEDR (99-JAMZ)/MIAMI has released long time program director CEDRIC HOLLYWOOD. OM TONY FIELDS will assume those day-to-day programming duties, along with programming sister station Urban AC WHQT, until a successor is named."

Tony Fields took over as OM five months ago. Hollywoods's been at JAMZ for 12 years. Tony was brought in as his boss. You do the math...

I met him around 1978 or 1979 in the last days of 560 WQAM as a Top 40 station. He was on evenings.

Ask him about the airchecks of Cousin Bruce Morrow on WINZ The Way We Were Weekend from Labor Day, 1974 that he dubbed from me.

That was the last time I got to see that wonderful waterfront studio at 767 41 Street. The studio that gave us Tigeradio in the sixties and some wonderful personalities.

Cedric, that was a pretty good run. Can't wait to see where you land next, mannnnn!

Will never forget being at the Dade County Youth Fair for my jock appearance many years ago and walking up on Cedric in a little booth playing country music!

Later when I jocked at Radio Hitt WHTT, in the old 96X building, we'd go down after our show and hang with Cedric just down the street at QAM on 41 Street. He was playing Country. I remember a few major R&B acts dropping by to see Cedric while they were in town on tour.

NOT the kind of stuff that happens at most radio stations these days!

Re: Where is the studios of WEDR located now?

I remember going into the studio of WEDR in the early 80's, at that thime they were in a converted funeral home. Where are the studios at now. Also I thought they co-owned WRBD AM with the acting general Manager at the time. What happened with that.
