Boom 102.9 arrives, joining OG 97.9 and Old School 99.3 to classic hip hop

WOW! Three Classic Hip-Hop stations. And all on FM translators. One gets the feeling that this format just became the new Jammin' Oldies fad, and we know how that turned out.

Totally different then jammin oldies. Jammin oldies was only 70s disco music where as Old School Hip-Hop & Rap is late 70s-00s (broader playlist)

I can see this appealing to the kid demographics. But is this a good target market? Kids don't have a lot of disposable income.
It'll be interesting to see which one of these stations succumbs first.

The same format went to #9 in 18-49 and #10 in 35-54 in Houston with only 3 out of the 4 weeks of the October book in the format. It's an adult format, as it is all throwbacks which appeal only to an adult demo.
