One of the most common questions we receive on the Arbitron Web site is "Where are the radio ratings?"

To satisfy that desire, we are now posting Persons 12+ AQH Share radio listening estimates for all markets on the Arbitron Web at http://www.arbitron.com/home/ratings.htm.

Hmmmm....I'm getting a "The page cannot be found" error. Looks like at 2:27 PM Eastern they don't yet have it up.

It's not the browser...the system has a built in automagically-make-this-a-link thingy and it put the period in it.

The system makes the link but it didn't add the period; that was Eduardo's. Otherwise it would have added a period to DeepestBlue's link as well.

One thing I really like about getting the data from Arbitron itself, rsther than from R&R and All Access, is that simulcast stations are shown individually instead of combined into a single number. That can make a big difference in terms of figuring out each station's effectiveness to simulcasts and trimulcasts.

A huge portion of simulcast numbers are the product of ascription. I am, as I write this, in the diary review facility at Arbitron. I looked at simulcasts in several markets, and there is no conclusive way of knowing which station rally contributes to the total share.

Over a third of the KRCD & KRCF numbers in LA are given by ascription, a random-number based system that allocates quarter hours based on trailing cume. So the result is, simply, irrlevant and totally inaccurate.

The only way to look at a simulcast is by totalling the numbers and thinking of the combo as "one station."

I wrote the system. deepest blue didn't put a period after his link, therefore, the system didn't interpret the period as being part of the link like it did with the original one.

But thanks for your suggestion as to how my code works.

Without any knowledge or concern about who wrote the code, I described its behavior both accurately and courteously.

Wow, this is great... I didn't know I would ever say this: thanks Arbitron!
Great to also see the stations that didn't show up in the most recent book... something R&R doesn't show.
I sure hope this is a resource that sticks around for a while, and that nobody messes it up for the rest of us.<P ID="signature">______________

Interesting.. I noticed that one of the markets that had been embargoed is available from their site.

You have our sympathy!

Has Arbitron figured out how to report simulcasts as a single number instead of forcing the user to add them together?

It's boring!

I discussed this with Dr. Ed Cohen yesterday, and there is an initiative, suggested by the Advisory Council, to incoporate this in the changes for 2006... which changes include the language proportionality issues for Hispanics.

Arbitron

No trends-just full book. We can get these from R&R, etc. 5pm same day.

Except -- as has been noted -- Arbitron is apparently including those markets which are embargoed from R&R and All Access.
