Any Big 4 affiliate airing programs out of pattern

1. Do any affiliates air the Price Is Right ,Let’s Make A Deal The View etc. in different dayparts or On digital sub channels across the country?

2. Do any of the big four air the primetime schedule of a different time zone Or delay to make room for example 9 PM or 10 PM newscast Or syndication.

KXGN Glendive, MT airs some of their CBS schedule from the East coast feed even though they are in the mountain time zone. This goes back to when they carried multiple affiliations. They have run CBS prime time from 6-9 Mountain time for over 35 years now. 9-10 was for the best of NBC. When the DTV transition happened they added a -2 for NBC which follows mountain time but 5-1 CBS still does prime time from 6-9. They air You Bet Your Life from 9-10 then the news (well they have no local news...its all from KTVQ Billings). Anywho their programming that is on an hour earlier than mountain
-CBS This morning 6-8a
-TPIR 9a
-LMAD 10a
-primetime 6-9p

Stations that air programming an hour earlier due to being a satellite station in the mountain time zone but their mothership is in the central time zone
-KCLO CBS Rapid City, SD (semi-satellite of KELO Sioux Falls)
-the Big 4 in Dickinson, ND all air programming an hour earlier as they are satellites/semi-satellites of the Big 4 in Bismark.

I'm sure there are a few more examples in border time zones (mainly the Central and mountain)

KIRO 7 in Seattle airs Bold and the Beautiful at 2PM out-of-pattern, and LMAD at 9AM. This has been going on for about 6-7 years and allows KIRO to air an hour of noon news.

WLKY airs a noon news in an hour and Y&R airs at 4pm, KFMB airs 1 and half hour 11am-12:30pm news delaying the second half of CBS Daytime by an hour. O&O KOVR airs CBS Primetime in the Central/Mountain 7pm time.

Someone posted a while ago that CBS provides an additional feed of Let’s Make A Deal at 3 pm (as it replaced Guiding Light which aired at 3 pm)

  • CBS provides two separate feeds of Let's Make a Deal, at 10:00 am and 3:00 pm Eastern time (9:00 am and 2:00 pm Central time); affiliates who follow the network's master schedule have the option to air the program in either timeslot.
  • CBS provides an alternate feed of The Young and the Restless at 11:00 am Central time (12:00 pm Eastern); this feed is used by some stations outside of the Eastern Time Zone to accommodate their Noon hour local newscasts.

All the CBS stations licensed in Montana air TPIR at 9am and LMAD at 10 (instead of the other way around)
KTVQ 2.1 (Billings)
KRTV 3.1 / KXLH 9.1 (Great Falls / Helena)
KXLF 4.1 / KBZK 7.1 (Butte / Bozeman)
KXGN 5.1 (Glendive)
KPAX 8.1 / KAJJ 18 (Missoula / Kalispell)

I know there are some NBC affiliates who delay (or pre-empt completely) Hoda & Jenna. The main reason for delay is because they have the rights to Kelly & Ryan

Not all Hearst NBC stations carry the 4th hour but this will all change with Dr.Phil ending and possibly Rachel Ray I could see KXTV pick up the rights to Live from KCRA, or even the weakest ABC stations like WMAR needing to boost viewers if they snatch away from WBAL while WATN might looking to buy Live to replace Dr. Phil, also WHAS might get Live from WDRB after the latter added a 9am newscast competing against WLKY.

Some examples from Northern California:

KOVR channel 13, the CBS O&O in the Sacramento-Stockton-Modesto market, does “early prime,” where primetime goes from 7:00 to 10:00 PM Pacific instead of the normal 8:00 to 11:00 PM; thus putting the station in line with Mountain Time CBS stations. The market’s NBC affiliate, KCRA channel 3, did this for the 1992-1993 TV season.

From 1992 to 1998, KPIX channel 5, the CBS affiliate-turned-O&O in the San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose market engaged in this practice, in order to air news at 10:00 PM in an effort to compete with KTVU channel 2’s long-established hourlong 10:00 PM newscast. For the 1992-1993 TV season, then-NBC affiliate KRON 4 experimented with “early prime” as well, for the same reason.

KOTV airs B&B in the overnight hours in favor of their hour-long noon newscast.

In Des Moines WHO 13 airs NBC News Daily at 2pm instead of 1pm where they use to air Days of our Lives. When they moved to Peacock they moved Rachel Ray from 2pm to Days of our Lives time slot and put NBC News Daily at 2pm.

Atlanta: WANF/ch. 46 runs two hours of CBS's Saturday E/I shows early Sunday from 5 to 7 AM.

In the Raleigh area, WRAL aired Young and the Restless at 4pm and WNCN did as well when they swapped affiliations with WRAL, however WNCN stopped last year to launch a 4pm newscast. From what I understand, WRAL originally did it because their ratings were not so good at 4pm airing Golden Girls reruns up against Oprah on WTVD.

WRC in Washington airs NBC Nightly News at 7 during the week and as far as I know, they always have.

Here in Minnesota its all over the place
-Duluth KBJR shows it at 1
-Minneapolis KARE shows it at noon
-Mankato KMNF-LD shows it at 2
-Rochester KTTC shows it at 1

Interesting as depending on time shown its different anchors
Morgan Radford & Vicky Nguyen anchor the broadcast on NBC (for one hour depending on affiliate scheduling) & NBC News Now (in its entirety) 12pm - 2pm ET. Kate Snow & Aaron Gilchrist anchor the broadcast on NBC (for one hour depending on affiliate scheduling) & NBC News Now (in its entirety) 2pm-4pm ET (4pm Eastern is a recorded version but is updated for breaking news)

Some affiliates don't even run NBC News Daily, if I recall. They decided once Days went to streaming, it became an hour of syndication for them.

Its not out of pattern when its aired live since NBC allows affiliates to air that program at anytime between 12-4pm ET. Most carry it live except for some of the West Coast, Alaska and Hawaii stations.
