Accident knocks 2 KC stations off-air

It doesn't look like they're on the same tower, but they are near each other. Hope the people involved in the accident are alright.

I know they're not on the same tower. Do they really have 1 transformer powering 2 100,000 watt stations on different towers?
Yes. A transformer simply provides local area consumer level voltages. There can be many homes or businesses or transmitters on a 110/220 low voltage power line serving a specific area. In this case, one transformer for a couple of stations is not unusual. Remember, they are not outputting 100 kw vertical and 100 kw horizontal from the transmitter.

KCUR 89.3 is back on the air as of 04:30 PM.

And KKFI 90.1 is back as of 04:50 PM.
