#45 Norfolk-Virginia Beach September PPMs

Audacy's Urban AC WVKL, 95-7 Smooth R&B, falls from a 9.7 to 9.2 but is still #1.

Sinclair Telecable's News/Talker WNIS, AM 790 remains Hampton Roads' top-rated AM station with its 4.1 putting it at #9.

Sinclair also has the market's top country station. WUSH 106.1 is #4 after a slight drop from 6.4 to 6.3.

Meanwhile, WGH 97.3, The Eagle continues to struggle: the heritage country station comes in at #10 after falling from a 4.1 to 3.8. It looks like the owner is trying to turn things around, though. Max Media recently rehired Jimmy Ray Dunn, put him in the afternoon drive slot, then named him PD. Dunn is well-familiar with Eagle as he handled mornings there for about 20 years before leaving in 2015.

And maybe some jazz lovers can explain what's going on at Hampton University's WHOV, 88.1. The station, which had a 2.7 in June, has plummeted to a 0.9 and a #19 ranking! It's a college station and I know summer vacation just ended, but there's got to be a bigger story here.
