35,000 Watts film

There's a movie that was shown at the Grog Shop in Cleveland, Ohio (followed by a panel discussion about Cleveland area college radio) called "35,000 watts". It's main emphasis was to show how important college radio became, and is, to the breaking of new bands in both the rock and rap fields. They had comments made by members of Akron, Ohio's DEVO, as well as members of Let's Active, The Pixies, and more. The hour and 10 minute long movie showed how and why the music industry took, and takes, college radio seriously. It also showed examples of college radio being involved in issues. It also showed a radio station that had been pulled off the air by its collegiate Administration over a Christmas break, but unfortunately, didn't give a reason why. That station did get back on the air down the road. There were two big misses. The film didn't show anything about college radio stations who, as part of their mission, work to prepare students for jobs and careers in broadcast, and broadcast/communications-related fields (such as media groups in large businesses or in school districts) and sports broadcasts, such as play-by-play of the University's teams.
