WBMX calls transferred?

The HD radio display for 104.1 now correctly displays WWBX-FM...As of now here in Beverly, no HD2 or HD3 on WZLX.
But yes HD is a lower priority.

The page on the RKO site (wrko.com not wrko.iheart.com) talking about their HD2 signal on 93.7 is now gone.Don't know if they are still airing IDs saying "WEEI-FM HD2" as part of it.

If Beasley wanted to or had to ditch the WBZ-FM calls they could put WBCN there as people remember BCN Patriots Rock Radio network.Could even put new call letters on 92.9 and move WBOS calls to 98.5..."BOSton's Home For Sports the Sports Hub".If they wanted to.

Correction: 104.1 HD3 is no longer Christian "Mercy Rock". It's now a CHR new releases channel called "Tomorrow's Hits Today" (or something like that).

Just like the syndicated radio show on Westwood One "Future Hits" which used the slogan "Tomorrow's Hits Today, Future Hits!" Joel Denver was the host, then left the show to start the online website "All Access."

Yes also 10 pm but am pretty sure that's WAAF now on 93.7 HD2

I don't have an HD receiver, so I'll take your word for it on this.

Still, you'd think the stations involved would want this to be right. As someone else mentioned, the HD part of any of these stations is very likely of lower priority than the other aspects that accompanied the ownership changes.

Right now, methinks WKOX 1430 and WRKO are not really receiving a lot of love from iHeart, and in the case of 'RKO, from Entercom, either.

Still, you'd think the stations involved would want this to be right.

Keep in mind that stations are not teeming with manpower. There aren't a lot of extra people available to do some of these extra tasks since the sale/merger....and as has been mentioned, priorities have to be decided. (not to mention keeping the sales separtments selling!)

I am guessing most of these stations, since the change, have been dealing with spots, logs, billing, bank accounts, payroll, merging computer systems, etc.

HD...something that has virtually no effect on a station in audience or revenue....is on the back burner.

Right, and in my case I can get 93.7 fine as Beverly is not all that far from Peabody. So AAF on HD2, nothing on HD3.Display on the HD2 doesn't say WAAF but as I type this it says: WEEI-FM/ The Hill-man Morning Show
As I mentioned the Entercom WRKO site has an error message when you try to go for a page via search about HD radio.

WBZ 1030's top of hour says WBZ and WBZ in HD Boston which they've probably run for awhile and they have no mention of the WBZ-FM HD3 that got dropped.Yes they do run an HD signal on 1030, well, on and off. Some of us have HD radio on both AM and FM in cars and homes but for many they have portables that are FM only, though some AM signals appeared on HD2 and HD3.

Up until this week, WRKO and WBZ AM were on the HD2 and HD3 signals of 93.7 and 98.5 respectively.

I have the Audiovox walkman sized portable and also the Insignia "tabletop" that also can serve as a portable. The HD people are claiming more and more people have cars with HD including supposedly half of new model vehicles.

98.5 HD2 appears now to have sports talk programming on as of yesterday, no longer "The Rock of Boston" alternative rock music. Not a direct simulcast of WBZ-FM HD1 "The Sports Hub", but may be reruns of "Sports Hub" HD1 programming from earlier in the day.

No HD subchannels now on the air on 97.7 or 100.7.

Don't know if we'd ever see a team based HD subchannel like what Pittsburgh has--Steelers channel on WDVE 102.5 HD2, Penguins channel on WXDX 105.9 HD2

What a ****ing waste

Ha! Yeah, instead of being concerned about moving their studios (and building a TV studio), combining the resources of the two staffs, and all the other IMPORTANT decisions made with the move from CBS to Beasley, they should be spending time cultivating programming that impresses someone on a radio message board and the tiny fragment of the population that actually listens to it. #priorities

Between this and your incessant bashing of iHeart, something tells me you tried, but never made it in commercial radio. You're the guy on the staff that always knew more than the PD, GM, VP, or whomever, correct?

Hi Everyone,
This is my first post, as I just joined after years of lurking around here. I must first say that I am not a professional in the radio community, but rather just a fan of radio. With that said, onto the topic at hand.

I personally believed that the writing was on the wall for the automated WBCN once WBZ-FM was taken over by Beasley. As someone who literally shed a tear over the fall of WBCN at 104.1, and again for the WZLX HD-3 Free Form version, I found the WBZ HD-2 feed to be a rehash of what I can basically find on the 90s Alternative and Current Alternative channels on satellite radio. I'm still sad to see it go, but it makes sense that Beasley would discontinue it with them owning WBOS. We can all have our pipe dreams, but progress means that some things end. WBCN was a huge part of my youth, teens, and twenties going near into my thirties; but, it's gone. Time to move on. I'd be interested to see what the ultimate plan is for WBZ HD-2. My guess would be full time CBS Sports Radio, as I am with the understanding that WBZ-FM is keeping the affiliation.

Raccoon....since you are the HD afficienado here...

What is on 103.3-HD-2/3

What is on 104.1-HD-2/3

Anyone know if WUMB (91.9) is running HD?

Also, is WBZ 1030 the only AM running HD in Boston?

Thanks!

103.3 HD's have not been changed. HD2 is still "Oldies 103.3", '60s/'70s/'80s classic hits. HD3 is still "The Cove", romantic soft-rock love songs from the '60s through today.

104.1 HD2 is now a simulcast of 107.3 WAAF. 104.1 HD3 is now a CHR new releases channel called "Tomorrow's Hits Today" (or something like that).

WUMB is running HD1 on its main Boston (Quincy) transmitter, no subchannels. I don't know if any of their repeater transmitters are running HD. Some of them may be.

WBZ 1030 is now the only remaining AM running HD in the Boston area, and that's during the daytime only.

And, WJIB 740 is the only remaining AM running analog (C-Quam) AM stereo in the area.

So WAAF is now on 93.7-HD2 and 104.1-HD2?

And the only people running HD-3's are: 89.7, 103.3 & 104.1 ?

Anyone else running HD3's?

Yes, WAAF is also still on 93.7 HD2 as well as now on 104.1 HD2, which covers downtown and south of Boston a lot better than 93.7 HD2, which may cover better farther north.

Correct, at the moment 89.7, 103.3 and 104.1 are the only HD3's on the air in the area.
