Nothing against Roe here, either. But the current incarnation of WGN reminds me of a sports franchise that keeps acquiring (and discarding) "household name" talent....yet has virtually nothing to show for it. To use another sports analogy, "someone needs to step up and make a big play".
Roe seems to work best when he has partners in the studio. So far I haven't heard a good mix at WGN.
Well today he interviews a Dr who wrote a book called Sex RX..now he is interviewing a guy with a drink cart he brought into the studio and they are all drinking wine and liquor. Makes me want to get back into radio..
He did that same thing in WLS on Friday's at 5 pm. He called
it the (something I can't spell) wagon. Date back to his days with Meier.
The Carnable Wagon. I remember it well, with George Thoroughgood's One Bourbon, One Scotch And One Beer as the music after the 5 pm news...and various quotes from the Simpsons and other tv shows and movies.
