WTRI Deathwatch

1520 Brunswick lost their studio/tower site and has shutdown, filing an STA today. Also gone is the 101.7 translator.

I doubt they'll find a viable site for a messy three-tower 17kw array. Land prices are through the roof in that area.

The best bet would be to negotiate with WCTN to throw the South Asian content on that signal.

Did WTRI have any real presence in D.C. or Baltimore? Signal aimed right at those markets, but a lot of miles in-between for a high-end of the AM band station, even at 17kw.

It's definitely not returning with 17kw, if it returns at all. I can see it coasting on a STA longwire or something just to feed the FM translator, then maybe finding a single tower site if it can do so.
