New high-definition music series sees industry veterans lend their expertise to produce live in-studio recordings for independent bands and artists.
NEW YORK – Oct. 9, 2006 – Sandra Carter Global, Inc. (SCG) today announced that it is now the worldwide distributor for the live, in-studio music series, CITY SESSIONS. The program, which showcases the vibrant local music scenes of cities across the US, is shot in high-definition and is produced by awardwinning music industry veterans through Your Music Channel Television (YMCtv), a division of Dallasbased
World Digital Media Group, L.L.C. (WDMG). SCG plans to distribute the series via multiple platforms and new media outlets, ranging from traditional TV to mobile wireless devices to IPTV. “We are extremely excited to have acquired as unique and revolutionary a program as City Sessions. Not only does the show provide a global stage for some of today’s best independent bands, but it also features up-close and revealing interviews with the artists. “City Sessions is different than ordinary music shows because it provides great music from fresh, new talent and it does so in an intimate studio setting in high-definition video,” says the show’s senior producer, Brad Smith.
Several artists featured in City Sessions have already seen their careers pick up. Philip Sayce, who is currently touring with Melissa Etheridge, recently saw his album, “Peace Machine”, become the 2nd-most downloaded Blues album on iTunes in the UK; No Lindsay was recognized by Billboard Magazine as they won the publication’s International Song Competition; Celena Rae, who attained national prominence as a finalist on season four of American Idol, has also seen her career take off.
