WNBC or WYNY (1980 to 1983)

Before Z100 signed on with their CHR format on August 2, 1983, which station would you consider as THE DEFACTO Top 40 station WNBC or WYNY? You had WNBC playing most of the hits with their AC leaning format as well as airing AT40 with Casey Kasem. You also had WYNY playing most of the hits with their Hot AC leaning format as well as airing Dick Clark's National Music Survey and from what I read they did their own Saturday morning countdown as well. You can correct me if I am wrong on any of this. You can now reply to this post.
