Radio has not stop playing Michael Jackson. Maybe CHR did, but I still on MJ on the radio. Now that he's a free man, he should get more airplay now.<P ID="signature">______________

Last night on Mix 106.5 in Cleveland during the 80's at 8, they talked about the trial and results for a few minutes and played "The Way You Make Me Feel"

Some stations will choose to take MJ out of rotation....some will choose to leave MJ in rotation...and i'm sure some that didn't have MJ before will add MJ into rotation. It just totally depends on the station and PD.

It mainly depends on if the track is a hit or not. "You are not Alone" was his last song of consequence, and that was a decade ago. MJ has grown out of CHR.

I'm not aware of stations that have been playing him pulling him.

OK to play Michael Jaskson

Yes- Americans have short memories and some of it is great music. And I know for sure that his biggest early 80s hits (through Thriller) still test pretty well- the J-5 stuff has never tested very well in most places for Oldies.

Stations are still playing Pete Townshend and Gary Glitter, to name but two artists who have been accused of similar stuff. I'm sure there are more.

Having said that, I have never purchased a Michael Jackson record and don't plan on starting now. Any station playing a MJ record will find itself off my presets ASAP. The guy just creeps me out.

Jackson must restart his career

Another question might be..."How will Jackson revive his career, and where will he begin to do that"?

Difference with Gary Glitter and MJ is that GG got caught with child porn and got sent to jail for it. He was cleared of child sex-assault charges though. Apparently he's living in Cambodia. MJ was cleared of all charges.

As for MJ, he _really_ needs to figure out who he is (if he doesn't know already), reinvent himself and release some great music. Maybe yes he has grown out of CHR, but the AC market could be cracked wide open and he could be successful to a much older audience. I think he needs to find some soul, but whatever happens I wish him all the success in the world.

Mark.

Here’s what he could do…

A Children’s album! Think about it. :)

I actually think another “Thriller” like album would be good. That one had what, 8 hits? Of course in this day and age 8 hits on one album is hard to come by.
