How To End The KLSY/KPLZ Radio War Once And For All
> Several reasons:
>
> 1. They chose to pick a fight with a station that has been
> doing what they have been doing (Star 101.5) for over 10
> years.
>
> 2. Star does tons of market research and spends plenty on
> marketing. All this while Mix probably spends more on their
> lease on copiers than they do on marketing or research.
>
> 3. Mix decided to do things on the cheap, starting with
> hiring a program director that has no competitive battle
> experience and is in general way over his head.
>
> 4. A nearly 20-year heritage morning show versus two people
> having never worked with each other, and one of the members

> going after a radio station, not a target audience.
Since this battle will never be won on the radio dial, there is only one thing left to do:
THE GREAT PUGET SOUND RADIO SMOKE-OFF!
On this side of the table, Kent Phillips, who says confidently he will slay Marc Kaye at this match like some dweeb who brings ditch weed at a house party stocked with Super Bubbleberry hash.
In the middle of the table is The Original Larry, with a grinder, a stack of Zig-Zags and mountain of highest-quality shredded White Rhino bud on the table for this evening's event.
On the other side of the table is Marc Kaye, who sneers back at Phillips and says he can smoke 'em faster that Larry can roll 'em and that he will be asking for more long after Kent has slided out of his chair and nodded off and then wants Larry to roll up the nodded off Kent Phillips and whatever's left on the table into a super blunt to take back to his victory party.
Phillips shoots back, commenting that Kaye will be so stoned off his ass, his prehistoric ancestors will have the munchies.
Whatever the outcome, the annual Cannabis Cup they have in Amsterdam will be NOTHING compared to this. A radio industry smoke-off would be a great way to promote radio to younger, hipper audiences with spending money (and believe me, the convenience store, grocery/pizza delivery and fast food industries would not nowhere near as big as they are without stoners and they know it. Why should radio lose out on this HUGE and PROFITABLE demographic?) as well as tie into the Seattle Hempfest August 20-21, of which yours truly will be definately be present, if a bit blurry looking.....
May the best man win.
Round One! (DING!)........
