Well That took 3 Weeks ---KMJE Approved to Yolo Dump Site

looking at the L-R maps its going to be good signal station in the sac metro area, just wonder after its on the air, a major comes in a snaps it up for sports or something else making a very nice profit and debt reduction for Results.

another major plus for this move is the upgrade to KDVS, they will cover
the Sac Metro really well from there new transmitter on the same tower

I'd be a great FM to put Rivercats baseball on. The signal in West Sacramento will be solid.

I forgot that KDVS is a B1 noncomm...wow... they'll be cranking 13kw at the new tower.

Results and KDVS are happy today!

An update on construction of this new radio tower:The Yolo County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday December 13, 2011, reaffirmed its support for a 356-foot-tall radio tower to be built at the Yolo County Landfill northeast of Davis.

The board originally voted in favor of the tower in September 2010 and the county Planning Commission approved a one-year extension of the use permit in October. It was that extension that tower opponents appealed on Tuesday, an appeal that supervisors unanimously denied.

Noting that the board already had studied and approved the tower more than a year ago, Supervisor Jim Provenza of Davis said, “I think it would be wrong to grant this appeal.”

This is interesting. So when does construction begin?

Something must have been built... since an August 30, 2011 application for a License to Cover
https://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/cdbsmenu.hts?context=25&appn=101442250&formid=1&fac_num=52516

has two documents that state a Jampro directional antenna has been installed. It had to go up on something.

One from Results' CTO stating it has been installed:
https://licensing.fcc.gov/cdbs/CDBS...?appn=101442250&qnum=5090&copynum=1&exhcnum=3

And another from a licensed land surveyor stating that its orientation meets FCC specs:
https://licensing.fcc.gov/cdbs/CDBS...?appn=101442250&qnum=5090&copynum=1&exhcnum=2

The map for this particular app is here:

with the TX location in the Dunnigan hills.

Did they ever transmit from there?

An appeal filed by Eileen Samitz of Davis says they didn't.

Here's her initial appeal:
http://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/getimportletter_exh.cgi?import_letter_id=30105

In this Nov. 14, 2011 followup letter to the FCC appealing BPH-20110824ACL she says Sacramento engineer Tim Whyte reported that KMJE wasn't transmitting from the Dunnigan Hills location:

http://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/getimportletter_exh.cgi?import_letter_id=30104

She alleges misconduct by KMJE.

In the meantime, it seems KMJE continues to transmit from atop Sutter Buttes on 101.5, AND on the translator K238AV that now Sister AM station KUBA originally had authority to use on 95.5. And it's calling itself "Sunny 95.5" with promos that "Sunny is now on 95.5."

A legal ID on Tue. Jan. 3, around 1 a.m. ID'd as "KKCY HD-2 Colusa and KMJE, Gridley" No mention of the translator's calls.

Results was granted modified terms per this doc:
http://licensing.fcc.gov/prod/cdbs/pubacc/Auth_Files/1420243.pdf

"This authorization re-issued 8/12/2011 to reflect a change in the primary station to KMJE(FM), Gridley, CA and special operating conditions and restrictions."

The second page notes:
Principal community to be served: CA-YUBA CITY Primary Station: KMJE (FM) , Channel 268, WOODLAND, CA Via:Direct - off-air
Frequency (MHz):95.5

1 K238AV MUST CEASE OPERATION IF PROGRAM TEST FOR THE KMJE(FM) FACILITIES SPECIFIED IN BMPH-20110627ABB COMMENCE OPERATION.

A previous authorization notes the TX would be fed by Microwave:
http://licensing.fcc.gov/prod/cdbs/pubacc/Auth_Files/1410658.pdf

To my knowledge they never fired up the Dunnigan transmitter. The antenna was installed on the existing 97.9 tower per the CP. But, as the original post on this subject notes, the CP for the Yolo Dump site was approved a short time after this facility was built. So, one could assume Results then focused all energy to getting the new tower up.

They have been branding the 101.5 Sutter Buttes signal as "Sunny 95.5" since last summer.

The good news for Results is the support from Yolo County to develop the new site. Since the public appeal was denied, they should have a green light to build. Perhaps the issue is more political than we think...
