Welcome to America's newest DX-er

Same here. Albeit, I think it was those ocean beach trips that influenced me (at least for FM). Sitting in the motel room scanning my shortwave radio, a strong 96.7 popped up with classic rock, and then local ads for Lincoln City. Clear as day, KCRF Lincoln City OR. Their path is straight down the beach at 150 miles. I haven't been there in nearly 10 years but want to go back to see how conditions are on the ole' 909X someday. Maybe Coos Bay or Crescent City is possible on good tropo.

I'm the only one in my family that likes Radio & DXing
That used to be me. I gave my daughter a small Radio Shack Realistic multi-band, portable, thinking she'd use it to listen to teenybopper music....which she did. Then I heard her tuning around one night I thought she might get the bug. Nope. She discovered CJBC, which started her on the path to becoming fluent in French.

At least I accomplished something.
