He's not taking SXM's money to play what you like. It's a vanity gig for him and he'll play what he likes and his fanboys (and girls) -- the intended audience -- will lap it up. Ego-satisfying "bloviation", as you call it, is an integral part of SXM's celebrity/musician-curated programming philosophy. If subscribers weren't listening or were canceling en masse, the strategy would be terminated. Obviously, there are many people out there who like an awful lot of songs you don't think are good.
