The Oasis on 103.7 HD2 is No More…

I heard ”96.9 The Oasis” give a (bogus) KKOS call. A search of that reveals a 7 watt LPFM in McPherson, Kansas on 106.7.
I’ve done that before. Back in the day, a friend gave me a ton of 128 kbps MP3 Shoutcast slots for an incredibly cheap price. I operated an online radio station 24/7 for around 6 months for fun. I named it Q 101-9, as that frequency was completely open in the area I lived in at the time. I didn’t give it calls, but it was strictly online streaming…at least 99.9% of the time. 😆

Doesn't seem to matter anymore. So sad. Looks like radio broadcasting, as we know it has nearly completed its 100 year run.
With 85% of Americans still using radio, not quite over. And... at least to me... "radio" does not have to mean just AM and FM. Programmed content can also be distributed via streams, satellite and other technologies so the concept will continue while the technology changes.
Thanks David for all you have done to help document it.
Much appreciated.
