The "Music City" has become the "Translator City"...

There's a lot of stations using translators in Nashville and the outlying area.

Let's see:

98.3 for 105.9 HD2
102.1 for 102.5 HD2
89.9 for 88.7
92.5 for 97.1
99.3 for 1200
97.5 for 102.5 HD1
103.7 for 107.1 LP
95.9 for 560
94.9 and 95.1 for 830
93.5 for 1090
100.7 for 1010
91.5 for 1270
101.5 for 1260
96.7 for 810
100.5 and 101.9 for 1450
93.9, 99.5 and another 101.9 for 89.1/1160
92.3 and another 93.9 for 89.5

Am I missing any?

Pretty soon, there won't be room for any more new stations around here!!!!

I'm curious as to how 1270 in Portland uses non-commercial 91.5 as a commercial translator:
did I miss a rule change somewhere re: 88.1 - 91.9 being non-commercial? Always possible I guess...

92.5 is now officially rebroadcasting 105.9's HD3, which reminds me that 89.9 is actually ID'd as 102.5's HD3

noticed Cromwell has fired up 93.3 with 250 watts...looks like from WSMV tower:
city of license appears to be Charlestown, IL...simulcast of WQZQ 830...just like 94.9 et al

93.3 still simulcasting 830...but stunting with a loop of "Macarena"...
just like the stunting for the launch of 102.5 The Party...long long ago.

I heard someone making fun of the British Gabby on ALT 98.3 and had to check her out. I had no idea it was 105.9's HD2. That's the only way I can listen to HD radio - via translators. I'm not cutting up my car's dash to install an HD capable radio.

The third Party's the charm?

I wonder if they're using the antenna left behind by WZTV when they moved to the Brick Church Lane tower site?

Radio Insight says it will be Classic Hits...kinda disappointed...we needed a new Hot AC since 1560 went softer a few years back, plus there's already Hippie Radio on 94.5 and Portland's 1270 running ABC/Cumulus/Whatever company runs it now's Classic Hits.

True, WQKR does classic hits, but if you're just speaking about WBGB, you have to be in Portland to hear it. At least W227DC is 250 watts at much more height than a water tower. Can't hear that 1000 watt AM in Nashville well either. Well most people can't or won't.

93.3 is running the Cumulus "Classic Hits" format. It's not bad, but I was hoping for something local. I'm not sure where the tower is, but they get out pretty far east for a translator. I was able to get a trace of the signal all the way out to Silver Point on I-40.

So 93.3/830 is running the same exact thing that 1270 is then...now we have two satellite duopolies in the area: Classic Hits on 93.3/830 & 1270 and Real Country on 98.9/1490 and 1010

Are you able to pick them up in Lebanon? I knew that they are primarily considered a Sumner County station.

Yes, I can pick up 1560 and 1010 loud and clear in Lebanon, 1270 fairly well too.

Are you able to get their translator? 100.7, I think it is. I can only listen to them online. And radio-locator maps, while good, are not always accurate. Thanks for the reply.

100.7 is strong enough to be heard in Mt. Juliet and Lebanon, but I'd rather use 1010 when I'm listening to the Cup races. There's another LP licensed to Hendersonville on 103.9 that's running a format similar to 1130, 710, and Lebanon's 900 and 100.5 (two different owners), and another LP on 103.9 in Antioch not related to the Hendersonville one, so there's six Spanish Religious/Spanish CCM stations in the Nashville market.

WQZQ and WQKR aren't broadcasting the same thing, at least not for the two days I took time out to listen.
