Suggestions for home H.D. Stereo Receiver

My aging Lafayette LR 5555, over 40 years old but still working,
needs to retire, permanently. Looking for some low and mid
priced H.D. receivers to replace it. Please let me know why you
suggest a certain brand or model. Thanks!

If you're looking for a component version, about your only choice is one of the Sangean units. This is the type I have: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sangean-HD...AOSwB4BaN0IN:sc:FedExHomeDelivery!22554!US!-1
FleaBay has other models too.

The HD 1 works really well, but will require an external antenna for FM or AM.

Another thing to consider; is these Sangean tuners run warm, so I don't recommend stacking other components on top of them. Otherwise, the result is the tuner overheats and shuts down until cooled off. They may have corrected this problem on later models, but I ended up removing the top cover and drilling a series of holes above the power supply. That seemed to fix it.
