Roger Friedman reports on FoxNews.Com that sometime next month Infinity Broadcasting will announce that former Van Halen lead singer David Lee Roth is taking over for Howard Stern in New York City and in several other Stern markets.

Cable TV comic Adam Carolla, meanwhile, will likely man Stern’s mike on the West Coast.

No word, however, on whether Sammy Hagar or other members of Van Halen will be offered Stern’s slots in other cities.

That would be nice since we know Diamond Dave and Sammy don't get along... it would make for some good radio and maybe even some competition if someone other than Infinity hires Sammy.

That is part of infinity's problem all of these directors of various formats etc. More middle management, it's just so much mangerial clutter.,,,,,besides, that gig should go to Don Kirschner, and or Reuben Kincaid!.

WCCC-FM 106.9 of Hartford ("The Rock-106.9 WCCC") will not be carrying DLR this winter. They are going to return with Sebastian, who was once their morning man in the 1980s and early 1990s. He would later move over to WZMX-FM 93.7 of Hartford, who went AC, classic hits, to 70s, to Dancin' Oldies and today's urban hip hop format (the latter was in 2001). Besides hosting a pregame show for New England Patriots football (which WCCC-FM carries), he had also worked for WNNZ-AM 640 of Westfield/Springfield, MA (all sports).

KISW program director Dave Richards(aka "Sgt. Hairclub") has a proven local show signed, but he isn't saying who. BTW, Stern mentioned that his Las Vegas affilliate will be dropping his show in about a week or so(can't remember the actual date).<P ID="signature">______________
