REM is the best 50 something band today!

For a group of guys in their 50s, REM is great! Accelerate is the best album ever made by men in their 50's. Tons of old bands have hung on and released new albums. Outside of Neil Young they mostly have all been inferior. But, REM after a very so-so Around The Sun roars back with a real gem!
 
First of all Michael Stipe is 48 and yes REM is back. They have put out the best album which left off where Adventures in Hi-Fi left off.
 
I've actually really enjoyed all their albums since (and including) New Adventures in HiFi, and I've also seen them on their past 4 US tours - they always put on a great show.

Bad Day was actually written in the late 80's, then updated and modified to fit the present day and released.
