Radio Day By The Bay will be held on Saturday, July 16, at the CHRS Bay Area Radio Museum under the giant radio tower in Berkeley.
It's the California Historical Radio Society's annual open house and fundraiser known as KRE Live, and it's your chance to visit the museum and the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame, check out the classic radios and other items on exhibit, meet up with your friends from radio, and enjoy great food and live entertainment.
This year, we'll be paying tribute to Bay Area radio legend and longtime CHRS supporter Carter B. Smith (BARHOF '07), and we'll be announcing the Hall of Fame's Class of 2011. In addition, the Broadcast Legends Famous Radio Players will be on hand to present an episode of The Lone Ranger live on stage.
Among the special guests we're expecting at the event are Frank Dill, Mike Cleary, Stan Bunger, Celeste Perry, Kim Wonderley, Greg Sherwood and a veritable plethora of Broadcast Legends (upper and lower case).
